Rouen has its own station, Rouen Rive-Droite, served by the TGV, the Intercités Normandie and the TER. But the line to Paris suffers from the congestion of the Île-de-France network beyond Mantes-la-Jolie, and the train leaves you at a station in the capital, with the end of the journey left to you. The car avoids that final stage, above all with luggage or children.

The route from Rouen to Paris
Leaving Rouen, the N338 takes you out of the conurbation over 7 km, then the A139 links it to the A13 south of the city. The motorway of Normandy occupies 76 km and leads to the gates of the Île-de-France.
At the entrance to the Paris region, the A14, the branch of the A13 towards La Défense and the west of Paris, takes over for 20 km. The last stretch is within Paris itself: it varies with the hour and the district, and the driver picks the clearest access at the time of the trip. To the Saint-Lazare station, allow 132 km and about 1 h 39.
- A139: about 17 km
- A13: about 76 km
- A14: about 20 km
What time should you leave Rouen?
Allow 1 h 45 of driving time without traffic to central Paris, and more at rush hour on the approach to the ring road (périphérique): the departure time is agreed with you when you book.
The driver can meet you outside Rouen Rive-Droite station, in the Hauts de Rouen, near the abbey church of Saint-Ouen or in Saint-Sever, on the other bank of the river. In Paris, the drop-off is at any address: a hotel, an office, or one of the stations among Saint-Lazare, Nord, Est, Lyon, Montparnasse and Austerlitz.
For an early-morning appointment, leave before the heavy traffic begins: the last part of the route, inside Paris, is the one that varies most. For an evening return, the driver picks you up again at the planned address, so you need not watch a station timetable or run for a connection. That comfort matters most when the Paris meeting drags on.
On arrival in Paris
The driver sets you down at the address of your choice in Paris: home, hotel, office, theatre or station (Saint-Lazare, Nord, Est, Lyon, Montparnasse, Austerlitz). Several stops can be arranged when you make your request.
